The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury decided that a new medical clinic would be required in order to attract physicians to the community. Partnering with the Southlake Family Health Team, the Town decided to renovate the old 11,000 sq. ft. library, originally designed by Lett/Smith Architects in 1988, into a new state-of-the-art facility. Lett Architects were brought on board early in the conceptual stage of the project and were able to assist the Town in the overall model for the centre. In the end, the Family Health Team was able to establish a satellite location in the building with six practitioners, and with Life Labs also occupying a suite in the building. The design was intended to provide a warm and welcoming environment for the clients of the various organizations.
