Located in the centre of the City of Barrie, with close proximity to the waterfront, this former high-school auditorium was purchased and studies undertaken to determine the economic and social impacts of a new theatre and convention centre.
Lett was hired to review opportunities of renovating and adding to the existing auditorium to create a one-of-a-kind events centre in the new proposed entertainment district of the City. The 650-seat W.A. Fisher Auditorium has been reimagined to create an engaging, interactive and inspirational space. Additions to the building were carefully considered to add a conference facility and support infrastructure. The translucent facade of the addition acts as a beacon, inviting the public into the space and addressing the public realm of the street.
